Description
Delicate openwork, graceful proportions, and richly detailed metalwork give this handcrafted Edwardian Inspired mounting ring the romantic elegance of an antique jewel. The design is created to showcase a Round Cut center stone, framed by a refined circular setting and beautifully sculpted filigree shoulders.
Fine hand-applied milgrain follows the border of the center mounting, adding a subtle beaded texture that enhances its vintage character. The shoulders broaden gently as they rise toward the center in a graceful cathedral-style profile, decorated with pierced scrolls, leaf-like flourishes, floral motifs, and intricate metalwork. No side diamonds are used, allowing the filigree and ornamental detailing to remain the principal decorative features.
Viewed from the side, the elevated center reveals an elaborate openwork filigree gallery with flowing pierced motifs and sculpted supports. The airy construction gives the setting visual lightness while creating a beautifully finished appearance from every angle. The decorative upper shank gradually tapers into a smooth polished lower band for a balanced and comfortable fit.
The mounting may be prepared for a Round Cut natural or lab-grown diamond, or for a precious or semi-precious gemstone selected in the size and proportions appropriate for the setting.
